Achieving the retirement of your dreams takes careful planning. And smart advice.  We’ll work closely with you in this vitally important stage of your life to help you plan ahead and make the most of your assets. Our team has significant experience assisting clients transition through the phases of life. We can advise on your options once you retire, so you can enjoy your retirement, your way.

Asset planning

Careful structuring of the ownership of your assets is essential for you and your family and for future generations. Planning can make life a great deal more harmonious for your family.

While there are many asset planning arrangements you can choose from, a trust can be one of the most flexible ways to hold assets and distribute income to best meet changing circumstances. Our team has extensive experience in forming and administering family trusts, and advising on wills and asset planning.

Retirement village advice

If you’re thinking about moving into a retirement village, we can assist with the many decisions and documents you’ll need to deal with to transition through this very complex process. We know most retirement villages on the North Shore, and many elsewhere in New Zealand.

Residential care advice

Working your way through the rules about rest home or residential care subsidies can be daunting. If you have gifted some of your assets in the past, it may affect your entitlement to rest home care subsidies. Our experienced team can help you work out whether you’re entitled to subsidised care.

Estate administration

We’ve had many years' experience administering estates for our clients and their families. We work sensitively with your executors and family to ensure your estate is managed smoothly and efficiently.

Enduring Powers of Attorney (EPAs)

EPAs are essential to ensure that the people making decisions for you when you can no longer do so are those you can trust. We can work with you to create EPAs for property and for personal care and welfare that fit your personal needs and circumstances.

General Powers of Attorney

If you travel overseas frequently, it’s a good idea to appoint someone to make decisions and sign documents on your behalf (or that of your trust). We can help you prepare a General Power of Attorney that will ensure your affairs can be looked after while you travel.

Healthcare directives

Also known as “living wills", a healthcare directive sets out for your family and doctors your choices about health care options should you become physically or mentally unable to make those choices for yourself. We’re experienced in drafting documents that will help you achieve your wishes.
