Nicola Russ Partner

Nicola specialises in construction, finance and commercial law, and is part of our business team.  She works closely with a number of our larger corporate and commercial clients both in New Zealand and overseas.  Before law Nicola was a Registered Nurse in one of New Zealand's biggest trauma and emergency departments.

Nicola has worked alongside a number of our corporate clients in the motor vehicle finance industry and the energy and construction sector for many years.  She builds strong working relationships with owners and executives; supporting them through those daily challenges, and helping with planning, strategy, risk assessment, compliance and governance.  She also gets actively involved in their contract negotiations and other larger projects both here and overseas.

Outside of work, Nicola devotes most of her time to family, supporting her daughters with their dancing and other interests. Her passion is "adventures in the outdoors", including adventure running, mountain biking and skiing.

Nicola is a member of the Financial Services Federation, the North Harbour Club, Grow North and the Restructuring, Insolvency & Turnaround Association New Zealand Incorporated (RTANZ).
