Jessica Shaw Senior Solicitor

Jessica joined Simpson Western in 2017, and works closely with Candice Murphy who heads our employment and relationship property teams.

Prior to joining Simpson Western, Jess worked at the Treasury Solicitor’s Department in London. This involved defending the UK Government against alleged human rights breaches that occurred in immigration decisions, such as unlawful asylum refusal and unlawful detention. She worked closely with barristers in various courts and tribunals, including the English Court of Appeal.

Before moving to London, Jess worked as a lawyer in a provincial New Zealand firm undertaking all aspects of family, criminal and employment law. She is a University of Otago graduate and was admitted to the Bar in July 2010.

Outside of work Jess enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and all things food and travel.
