Simpson Western was established on Auckland’s North Shore in 1985 by Gary Simpson and Chris Western.  Prior to establishing the firm both Gary and Chris had gained broad experience in working for major Auckland law firms.

Under their guidance the firm quickly gained a reputation for being professional, approachable, and for providing efficient, effective and innovative solutions and Simpson Western became one of the North Shore's most prominent firms.   

As a result the firm quickly grew and they were progressively joined in partnership by Greg Woodd, Brian Stewart, Robert Clark and Paul Hunter .

Today the six partners are supported by 15 lawyers and legal executives, together with a dedicated team of support staff.
